School violence and bullying have been a part of serious problems among youth in recent years.
The Department of Youth Studies emphasizes on training ‘Youth Counseling Experts’ who can offer a specialized counseling to adolescents to assist them in improving adolescents’ problems, and leading them to healthier life with their family, and in school and society.
In addition, the department aims to train ‘Youth Education Expert’ who can provide education for adolescents to promote their healthy and competent growth. Also the department focuses on fostering ‘Parents Counseling Expert’ who can help adolescent understanding their parents and communicating with parents and teachers.
Our faculty with hands-on experience in the field of youth studies will help you reach the goal to become professional youth counselors.
The curriculum consists of the required subjects for certificate of qualification related to youths. Also the curriculum is designed to get certified in youth counseling (certificate in youth counselor, youth activity instructor) but also diverse certificates related to mental health (psychology counselor, vocational counselor, play therapist, vocational counselor, and development psychology counselor, and etc.).
The curriculum is designed systematically which makes it possible for students to attend lectures conveniently regardless of time and place by taking advantage of the online class. Also, students can participate in offline lectures where students can obtain hands-on experience from experts in youth studies.
By sharing campus with Hanyang University, students can utilize facilities including the library, exchange credits and receive benefits such as medical discount from Hanyang University Hospital.
